My first Taiwanese adventure is apparently going to be getting to school, since naturally I forgot to make the request for an airport pickup in time to actually, you know, get it. But okay, okay, s'cool, after all, I once managed to find my parents in Tokyo with no help, no directions, barely enough cash, coming from hundreds of miles away and with only a vague idea of where I should even begin to look for them! If I have accomplished that, when I was only eighteen even, surely my incredibly mature current self should have no trouble locating an entire school.
We can ignore the fact that I'd already been in Japan for a month, spoke far better Japanese than I do Chinese, and even then circumstances drove to to become a screaming, cursing, hysterical mess in a hotel lobby across the street from Disneyland Tokyo, the happiest place on earth.
But I will be fine.
I leave two weeks from tomorrow, I have had my blood drawn and my chest x-rayed, and all I think I still need to do is like, laundry and buying some clothes. Mostly jeans. Finding jeans that fit me here is hard enough, I don't really want to try my luck in Taiwan, since I'm probably going to end up wearing skirts often enough as it is.

You should take notes, so you can write a book about it later.
